Read the Payment column in the subscriptions list

What each Payment badge in the subscriptions list means, including why a subscription can show No payment recorded.

The Payment column in the subscriptions list shows the payment state of each subscription's most recent billing. Use it to spot a subscription that needs attention without opening it.

Step 1: Open subscriptions

Open the subscriptions page from the app navigation.

Step 2: Find the Payment column

Look for the Payment column in the table.

Step 3: Read the badge

  • Paid: the payment went through.

  • Pending payment: the payment is pending or authorized, not yet captured.

  • Payment failed: the last billing attempt was declined. A declined attempt creates no order.

  • Partially paid, Partially refunded, Refunded, Voided and Expired: the matching state of the last order.

  • No payment recorded: the subscription has not been charged yet. It is not an error.

  • Unknown status: Shopify returned a payment state the app does not recognise yet. It does not mean a payment error.
