A renewal product lets a subscription start on a small pack and ship and bill a different product from the first renewal on. It is available on Free, Growth, Pro and Business.
Before you start
The starting product is chosen from the products already on the subscription plan, so add it to the plan first.
Step 1: Start the automation
On Automations, click Add automation.
On Trial pack, then the full size, click Set this up.
Step 2: Choose the plan
Under Subscription plan, choose the plan, then click Continue.
Step 3: Choose the renewal product
Click Add renewal product and choose the product the customer receives from the first renewal on.
Pick exactly one variant. A renewal bills one variant, so a pick with several is refused.
If the plan has several products, choose the starting product under Shipped in the first order.
A starting variant can have only one renewal variant, and a renewal variant cannot also be a starting variant.
Step 4: Save
Save your changes.
The swap is applied when a new subscription is created.
