The widget on your product page loads with the one-time purchase selected. A shopper who wants the subscription has to notice the option and click it. Default selection lets a plan land them on one of its delivery frequencies instead, with the subscription price and the save badge already showing.
Go to Plans and click the plan that sells the products you want to change. The setting lives on the plan, not on the shop, so a plan for refills can preselect a subscription while a plan for gift sets stays on one-time.
Open the Plan settings card, which is collapsed and summarises itself on one line, for example "Starts on One-time purchase, runs until the customer cancels". Inside it is Default selection. It lists One-time purchase plus every delivery option in this plan, named exactly as the shopper sees them, so a custom option name shows up here too. Pick one and save. On a plan where every product is sold on subscription only, the one-time entry is not offered, because no shopper ever sees that option.
Open one of the products in your store. The frequency you picked is selected on the first paint, and the price, the discount and the save badge match it before anyone clicks. This works in all widget layouts, so you do not have to change your styling.
Two plans can reach the same product, and only one selection can win on that page. When you preselect a subscription for products another plan also preselects, the plan form warns you and names those products, so you can set the other plans to One-time purchase and decide which one applies. The widget also falls back to the one-time purchase when the plan is inactive or when the chosen frequency is not available for the product being viewed.
Want the one-time price gone entirely instead of only unselected? Sell a product on subscription only does that, and it changes the Shopify product, not only this plan.
